 30 Christ's crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. First Pentecost
 35 Death of Stephen, the first martyr
 36 Conversion of Paul on the road to Damascus. Beheaded in Rome, 67
 42 Beginning of St. Paul's ministry and the writing of his epistles
 46 St. James (the elder) beheaded; first Apostle to die
 57 Apostolic Council of Jerusalem convened
 55 St. Matthew completed his gospel, written in Aramaic
 61 Church established in Antioch; the faithful first called Christians
 67 St. Mark completed his gospel, written in Greek
 63 St. Luke completed his gospel, written in Greek
 64 Burning of Rome. First persecution of Christians by Nero. From 64 A.D. to 305 A.D. there were ten great persecutions. Luke completed the book of Acts and Matthew's gospel was translated into Greek
 96 St. John completed the book of Levitation
 107 Death of St. John after completion of his gospel; last Apostle to die
 325 First Ecumenical Council held at Nicaea
 326 Discovery of the Holy Cross by St. Helena
 381 Second ecumenical Council held at Constantinople

 657 Jerusalem fell to the Arabs. Recaptured by Crusaders in 1099

 988 Mass baptism at Kiev; Christianity becomes national religion in Russia

 1346 First Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate established. Suppressed in 1765

 1907 First Bulgarian Orthodox church in America built at Madison, Illinois
 1908 Albanian Orthodox Church in America organized in Boston
 1919 American Ukrainian Orthodox Church organized
 1922 Albanian Orthodox Church proclaimed independent
 1924 New calendar (Gregorian) adopted by the Greek Orthodox Church
 1925 Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate founded
 1931 First convention of Ukrainian Orthodox Church in America
 1936 American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox diocese organized
 1955 Eastern Orthodox Church officially recognized as a major faith in the United States by six states. Other states followed with similar recognition
 1970 The Orthodox Church of America was born, receiving the Thomos of Authocephaly from Moscow
 1986 Some 20 parishes, from the Evangelical Protestant Churches, joined the Orthodoxy Family, being accepted by His Eminence, Metropolitan Philip of the Antiochian Orthodox Church
 1989 Most "Orthodox" Countries, previously suppressed by communistic dictatorships, miraculously were saved from atheistic socialism, regaining their apostolic calling of preaching un-fearfully the Gospel of Christ
 1994 29 Bishops of the SCOBA (the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in America), chaired by the then Archbishop Iakovos, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, gathered together in their "first attempt" to Establish an American Orthodox Patriarchate in the Western Hemisphere
